Autumnal Texas Wedding

We couldn’t have a better way to prep up our Thanksgiving festivities than by starting the day with a perfectly autumnal wedding captured by June Bug Co. You might want to take a piece of that apple pie while you read Shannon and Bryan’s fall wedding:

From the bride, Shannon: I was never the girl that dreamed about her future wedding before being engaged because I felt like it was bad voodoo or you’ve purchased a one-way ticket to Crazy Town. However, when Bryan proposed to me I was free to become an excited, giddy bride. The door was opened to being planning our dream wedding. When I was young, my family owned an antique store. I learned to appreciate historical antiquities from an early age which influenced many of the wedding decisions. I wanted to find a historical barn setting for the venue which can be a little tricky in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. There simply aren’t that many venues to choose from. After viewing several venues, we came upon Howell Farms after being suggested by my sister. I instantly fell in love with the venue. It was exactly what I was looking for in our wedding venue. The wedding venue looked gorgeous with the many fall colors and fallen leaves dancing around it.

We were married in the fall because it’s my favorite season of the year so many of the decorations and wedding colors were based around the colors of fall leaves. Many of the table decorations had amber glassware, pumpkins, burlap, and old books that were collected during out yearlong engagement. I spend many a weekend at local flea markets, antique stores, and estate sales looking for all of the table decorations. The main wedding color was mustard yellow because it represented my grandmother’s citrine necklace and earring set which I wore that day.

Any advice for couples planning their wedding now? My advice is to not get caught up in planning all of the details behind the wedding day that you forget the purpose of a wedding. The wedding is a way to publicly celebrate the beginning of your marriage before family and friends.
