Effortless Beach Wedding for Two Brides
Every aspect of this intimate affair for two brides radiates simplicity and grace from their first meeting at the water’s edge to the exchange of rings under the vast azure sky. Meticulously curated at Martha’s Vineyard Museum, adorned with florals by Aubrey Maria Designs, and immortalized by the lens of Jocelyn Filley Photography, every detail is a testament to love’s enduring beauty. With the ocean as their witness and the lighthouse standing sentinel over their love, these brides embarked on a journey destined to leave an indelible mark on their hearts.
Elizabeth’s friend would often talk about their coworker, Taylor, being sure to mention how smart, attractive, and kind she was. The same friend also occasionally brought lunch to Taylor’s work. On the day that Elizabeth finally met Taylor, she was tagging along to bring Taco Bell to the crew. Upon meeting, Elizabeth and Taylor remember immediately feeling a spark and knowing they wanted to be in each other’s lives. They were engaged in a mutual proposal at home, over candlelight.
Married in a dreamy beach ceremony, Elizabeth and Taylor’s unforgettable lighthouse backdrop on Martha’s Vineyard was effortlessly romantic. Their intimate group of thirty guests gathered at Martha’s Vineyard Museum in Edgartown. This historic building included coastal outdoor spaces, and a quiet nearby beach provided stunning scenery for photos.
As the couple got ready for their day together, Elizabeth did both of their own hair and makeup, incorporating braided details into both of their softly pulled-back hairstyles. Elizabeth wore a floral gown by Grace Loves Lace with a corseted bodice and flowy skirt covered in rose-detailed lace. Taylor wore a custom ivory suit by The Tailory New York. Taylor opted to wear only an ivory vest underneath the jacket, paired with white loafers for a very sleek moment of New York cool. The ceremony was held at the base of the Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse. An iron rail at the venue was decorated in greenery with modern white floral arrangements set along the stairs. The procession of family and friends walked through the sands.
Afterward, guests returned to the museum. They entered the gardens through a stone doorway and beneath a display of white florals and tulips which artistically hung upside down. A simple reception was hosted in the Rose Styron Garden, known for its renowned stone architecture. With a peaceful essence, the decor color palette was strictly ivory, as the vibrant surrounding greenery and the beauty of the island rose into focus.
