Cozy Up with this Chic Philly Wedding
If you ever wanted to see what modern glam with an ode to yesteryear looks like, this astounding Philadelphia wedding from danfredo photos + films takes first prize. Deep down, Kaitlin and Mark wanted to throw a huge party with their closest family and friends and the celebration was down-to-earth and relaxed, with heaps of earthy vibes and lush greenery centerpieces by Wild Stems that echoed that aesthetic. And don’t forget to check out the bride’s updo: it’s the bee’s knees.
From the bride, Kaitlin: Front & Palmer is such a beautiful and unique raw space that we wanted to highlight and play off its exposed brick, high ceilings with industrial beams, and gorgeous hardwood floors as much as possible. We felt that this worked well with our vision of a minimal, romantic, earthy vibe with lots of soft candlelight and greenery. As far as our vision of the day itself, it was important to us that it felt more like a huge party with all of our closest family and friends as opposed to a regimented event with specific things needing to happen at specific times.
For DIYs, we made all of the signs (wedding hashtag, cigar bar, signature drinks, thank you signs, etc.) and framed them in old picture frames that we found at second-hand stores. We framed our parents’ and grandparents’ wedding pictures and had them on display in an antique hutch. We made some of our own photo booth props like cut-outs of our dog Macie’s face. We also made the mini champagne bottle escort cards/wedding favors and we did our own save-the-dates and invitations.
Flower recipe: Floral crown was made of jasmine vine, ranunculus, fernleaf acacia, amaranthus, and scabiosas. My bouquet had all of those including olive branches, plumosa, several kinds of eucalyptus, succulents, pieris pods, dusty miller, leucadendrons, heather, queen anne’s lace, privet berries, anemones, and hellebores. The centerpieces were made from assorted kinds of eucalyptus, olive foliage, plumosa, pieris pods, ruscus, popocarpus, cocculus, and fernleaf acacia.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Work as a team and have open communication. You will receive lots of advice and input from other people but make this day about you two. Stressing out is inevitable and everything may not go exactly according to plan, but no one will remember the little things that only you notice. Have a blast!
