Utah Wedding Inspired By Dutch Still Life Flowers

Minimalism meets vintage botanics in this Utah wedding inspired by Dutch still life flowers. As one would expect, the mountain perch of this blank canvas venue boasts panoramic vistas and refreshing nature sounds, but that wasn’t the point of this inspiration shoot. The AAPI team of vendors sought to showcase the many creative ways you can bring the outdoors in for your wedding without compromising the aesthetic or experience. Whether it’s uncooperative weather that leads you to move your outdoor garden wedding in or it’s a blank slate indoor canvas you’ve always wished for anyways, Ruby Jane Events shows us just how timelessly elegant this design direction can be. Dutch still life flowers were the muse for everything from the invites to the 3D sugar flower cake, but that didn’t stop Little Lady Floral from creating the real deal in her lush floral ceremony arch with star-bursting stocks. The bride’s sleek, form-fitting wedding gown and pearl-adorned hair vine created as much of a stir as the fresh, blooming details – a statement we know you’ll agree with as you peruse the images from Christopher Cook Photography! We hope this “less is more” approach inspires you to do the same!

From the Photographer, Christopher Cook Photography: Although you can’t beat the draw of an outdoor event, there are so many beautiful indoor spaces waiting to showcase a bright, blooming aesthetic any time of year.

I partnered with Ruby Jane events to design this chic and timeless inspiration shoot. River Bridge Event Center in Spanish Fork, Utah, provided a clean, neutral space where our creativity could truly blossom.

The venue’s exterior is scenic, and Its indoor space is well-lit and spacious – a blank slate for any wedding style.

Little Lady Florals created altar arrangements fit for an outdoor garden party. We combined them with sage draping and chic wood elements to give the setup a truly botanical look. The white chairs and natural window light kept the scenes bright and airy.

Our goal was to highlight AAPI vendors while showcasing an indoor garden wedding design. Ivan and Moon modeled a timeless and elegant style fit for any season. Moon’s long-sleeve dress from Versailles Atelier had a minimalist design that allowed her personality and beauty to shine.

These stunning Asian-American models are married with two kids, but they were glowing throughout the shoot, just like two newlyweds.

The session’s showstopper was the cake by Maile Cake Design. Jehonna Kane, a Filipino-American baker, creates artistic and delicious cakes for stylish Utah weaddings. Her cakes are pieces of art inspired by each unique couple, along with the Hawaiian and Asian values that drive her work.

For Ivan & Moon’s cake, Jehonna married minimalism with botanical beauty, creating an edible masterpiece that reflected our entire event.

No wedding is complete without an invitation suite, and Paper Tree Studio’s vintage, heirloom-quality designs were a perfect match for the session.

As I photographed this inspiration shoot with Ivan & Moon, I also wanted to showcase my own passions as a photographer: The bespoke details, the overall design, and the quiet moments.

I am so excited to share these photographs from this wedding inspiration. It was an honor to work with these incredible vendors and highlight their skills and artistry.
