Secluded Costa Rica Wedding

Tucked away in a little part of paradise, this secluded Costa Rica wedding shot by A Brit & A Blonde is classic, fun and full of fresh, local flowers. Bright whites and yellows pop against the beach backdrop. The only rule at this dreamy destination wedding – no shoes!

After being together for 14 years, it was finally time to tie the knot. The only stipulation the groom Dean was adamant about was – no shoes! “Dean hates shoes and wears flip-flops at every opportunity. It is his insistance that he wears no shoes at the ceremony,” says Alice. So, there we go, barefoot on the beach!

The entire wedding – ceremony, cocktail and reception all took place on a secluded part of paradise in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Relaxed, natural, and fun. Of course, beautiful pictures (had to be A Brit & A Blonde!) and an awesome dinner were very important. The color palette consisted of grays and yellows, with decor details having a classic feel with fun inspirations. The flowers were all yellow and white using a mixture of: Dendrobium Orchids, Mokara Orchids, Lilies, Hydrangea, Astromedia, Snapdragon, Button Mums and rose petals. We loved Costa Rica for having such amazing flower options to choose from! There were cool personalized luggage tags for each of the guests which acted as place card seating names too – and a super fun and cute gift that all the guests could then use for their trip back home. Great idea for a destination wedding! We also had a photo booth to catch everyone getting a little wacky. But I think the biggest hit of the night had to have been the birdcage cake served with yummy ice cold fruit infused teas. It was simply stunning and so incredibly unique.

  • Beautiful wedding! I’ve always wanted mine to be on a beach as well. The couple looks so happy and I love the Asian influences.

I found a cool website that allows people to map their locations, even along the beach like this one, since you can drag the marker and add content on top! It seems like a great tool for other couples getting married!

  • What a beautiful wedding, in a beautiful place! Manuel Antonio is ideal for weddings–the last one we hosted, a troop of titi monkeys paid a visit right after the ceremony!

  • So perfect– Can you share where exactly in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica (bed and breakfast/ specific beach??) this wedding took place? This looks so remote, non-touristy and hoping to do a little research on this exact venue for my upcoming nuptials. Thank you so much for your time!
