Newport Beach Wedding

Bride Carley envisioned a wedding full of antique and vintage finds, a perfectly bohemian mix of pieces and styles she’s grown to love over the years. We love that Carley didn’t limit herself to a couple of shades for her color scheme, choosing instead to embrace navy blue, mustard yellow, mint, orange, peach, AND gold! Every detail of this beautiful day was captured perfectly by Tracy Hill.

From the bride, Carley: Over the past few years, my heart has been engaged in collecting vintage finds such as jars, books, door knobs, gold picture frames, etc. and that is what inevitably drove me to create the wedding of my dreams. I envisioned rustic jars everywhere filled with delicate flowers, books scattered throughout the grounds as well as hanging in trees, and little knick-knack antiques in every direction ones eyes laid upon. I knew the style was trendy but I wanted to create something that was my own. Something that screamed “me” as soon as the guests walked into Heritage Hill Historical Park. I wanted my dream to become a reality; and it did.

I believe some adjectives for our wedding would be happy, warm, dainty or delicate, old-fashioned, vintage. The color scheme was navy blue, mustard yellow, with hints of mint, orange, peach, and gold. The DIY projects consisted of the hanging books, the painted colored jars, the book page flower balls, the burlap banners, all of the fabric displays such as entryway banner and hanging fabric, embroidery hoops, fabric petals, burlap tablecloths, wooden crates at dessert table display, doily mason jars, welcome sign, sign in guest table, and cake table. Oh & my wedding dress, bridesmaids skirts, flower girl skirts & mini groomsmen’s bow ties.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? As I look back at the wedding planning, I think that the best advice I would give couples would be to enjoy every moment and not to let the little things ruin your day. It is important to focus on a few key things that are important to you. For example, I really made decisions to focus on books, jars, certain flowers I knew I wanted and especially making sure that my dress was the way I designed it. I think it is also important to be organized and that way everything will fall into place (so we hope).
