Industrial Chic Chicago Wedding

This wedding from Clary Photo might just be the definition of pretty. The bride Megan, being a stationer herself and owner of Ruby the Fox Design, created all of the paper goods as well as stylishly designed her own wedding. Fleur brought softness and chic to her industrial venue with luscious florals in peach and gray tones. Don’t miss the rest of the images in the gallery!

From the bride, Megan: Even before we got engaged on October 2, 2010, I knew we would plan a fall wedding. The timing worked out perfectly, and once I had a ring on my finger, my mom and I wasted no time in getting things going! Our first booking was with Gallery 1028, a rustic yet modern loft space in an industrial area of Chicago. With the rough wood floors and white walls, we knew this would be the perfect backdrop for our organic and eclectic wedding. A close second was choosing our photographer-Clary Pfeiffer of Clary Photo. We met her for the first time when she was in Chicago to shoot another wedding, and sitting in the lobby of the Palmer House, we knew it had to be her! Her calm, sweet demeanor and truly unparalleled artistic eye made her the obvious, and perfect, choice to capture our day. Around the same time we snatched up Clary, we booked with I Do Films, the most amazing wedding filmmakers. After meeting with Lori, and then our filmmaker, Louis, I am positive that they made our wedding day look as good as it felt!

As things started falling into place, I could start to think about details-and the dress! We chose my Christos Femme lace gown after trying on only a few other dresses. The look on my dad’s face said it all… and the trunk show pricing helped to make it a reality! Because I am a graphic designer and have a small stationery company, Ruby the Fox Design, we knew paper goods would be at the forefront of the day. We commissioned an illustration from the amazingly talented Shanna Murray and calligraphy from Angelique ink. I kept the whole suite soft, organic and simple. The flowers were from the unbelievably talented Kelly Marie Uss of Fleur. When the bouquets were delivered to the hotel in the morning, seeing them was the first time I cried all day! They absolutely blew me away, the colors and textures were spot on. It was like my vision was becoming a reality and Kelly really made it happen. The colors were even better than I could have imagined!

  • A fantastic post. I love the photos and detail of the brides dress.

    Love Lina
    xx

  • I noticed that the bridesmaids’ dresses were different dresses of blue. I would like to do a similar thing (but in purple) at my wedding. Mind sharing how you made that happen? i.e. what exactly did you tell them to do and did you provide them with photos/swatch of material/parameters, etc?

  • I chose a swatch of grey chiffon at Bella Bridesmaid and then selected seven styles the girls could choose from-long and short. They were able to try on at their convenience and choose the dress that they felt best in! Once they had all selected, the shop sent in the order together so they would be on the same dye lot.

  • The artichokes, succulents, garden roses, craspedia, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus among the other blooms create a nice texture throughout their wedding flowers. They are beautifully designed.

  • The moment I met Megan I just wanted to be friends immediately! Her ideas are just so my cuppa tea, and her family was beyond delightful to work with. Megan & Mike’s weeding quickly became my favorite of the year. When I was told Clary would be the photographer, everything just got so much better. I’ve had an industry crush on her work for so long! Thank you SO much to Megan & Mike for allowing me to be part of such an important day in your lives together, and thank you SO much to Clary for taking this gorgeous photos! And to Ruffled, for the beautiful, beautiful feature!!

  • Oh! I love everything happening here. Megan and Mike’s wedding is gorgeous, thank you for featuring it and showing off such a beautiful vision for a wedding day!
