Geeky Brooklyn Wedding

Today’s wedding definitely brings out the inner geek in me, in the very best way. Jina and Bill pulled off a wedding with a loose comic book and Star Wars theme in the chicest of ways, utilizing a grey and yellow color palette and the cool style of their venue, The Green Building. Thanks to Clean Plate Pictures for sharing their images with us!

From the bride, Jina: It is very difficult to put down to words, so I will try my best to describe this. Grey Vintage style + Spring yellow color flavor + little details of geeky/comic-book like touch + marvel + DC + Star Wars + Light saber duels = super fun stylish that has scent of slight traditional look with tangy flavor.

We wanted something special that you don’t see often in terms of traditional wedding. As a couple we’ve been to too many traditional wedding and found ourselves bored to death by structured standards of wedding. We always believed that wedding should be sacred but can be fun as well without being too crazy/offensive. We always sort of pride ourselves with our wedding because it was a great choice of a venue with fun music + the absolute best photography ever + awesome videos + classical string quartet + and the lovely marriage.

  • Gorgeous venue and decor. We’re really liking the touch of remembering friends and family who can’t be there, that we are starting to see show up in weddings more and more. Very touching.

    • I agree, What a fun wedding. I especially liked the little boy on the foot plate of the olds mobil and the one of the dyed yellow shoes which is something that is very popular, having your shoes dyed to bridesmaid dress colours. I must admit on not dyeing many yellows but it makes for a great picture don’t you think.

  • So much to love in this wedding! I audibly “awwed” at the robot cake topper. The light saber fight was a riot. And the personalized clothes pins were such a lovely subtle touch. Amazing wedding!

  • Usually I’m not a fan of theme weddings or this color scheme, but this couple nailed it- everything is sweet and lighthearted and fun, and they both look really, really happy. Congratulations to the newlyweds 🙂

  • What a sweet, fun wedding! This is the most fun wedding couple I’ve seen in a long time. The details are amazing.
