Sedona Elopement by Galaxie Andrews

This elopement from Galaxie Andrews absolutely has to be our dreamiest yet. Genesis and Matt wanted a relaxed ceremony that focused on their deep love for one another and the outdoors, so they picked the West Fork Trail of Sedona, Arizona as their location. I love everything about this, and have a feeling you will too:

From the bride, Genesis: Matt and I have been together for 5 1/2 years, and were engaged for the last 3 years. For us, getting married isn’t a “major-life-milestone’, rather, it’s more of a continuation of how we already felt. Neither of us care much for ceremony, un-meaningful traditions, or obligations, and neither of us are religious. As far as our families go, they’re spread out far and wide, and none of them have extra money to spend on plane tickets. We would have had to buy at least 6 plane tickets for travel from around the country. Additionally, we both wanted to be smart about our spending so that we wouldn’t end up regretting spending an unnecessary amount of money on things that weren’t very important to us (like catered chicken and DJ/dance floor). Not that those things aren’t great for others, they just aren’t our style.

Overall, our desire was to take a vacation on which we could do everything we love together and get married while we were at it. We stayed at an amazing lodge with all the extra niceties that you want when pampering yourself, and we were able to bring our two large dogs with us. It was nestled down by a peaceful wooded creek – so tranquil and romantic. We are definitely foodies, so it was very important for us to be able to really savor some outstanding food and wine, which we did… in beautiful surroundings. We were also able to spend an entire day relaxing, getting multiple spa treatments and spending time in the sauna releasing tension and truly letting go of our normal daily stresses. Also, it was important for us to be able to enjoy the outdoors – we love to hike with our dogs. We hiked for hours and hours over miles of trail before heading home. We returned home feeling completely rejuvenated and ready to continue our life together in a mindful, peaceful union, fully receptive to what the present and future hold.

We were also extremely lucky to find Galaxie. As soon as we met I knew we would be great friends. Having beautiful documentation of our day was very important; although we didn’t have any friends or family with us, we still want to be able to share the happiness we felt, and express ourselves through our photos.

  • Such a beautiful elopement and such a beautiful dress!!! This is a little wedding unrelated but can someone please tell me what kind of dog the black one is? He is so gorgeous!

    • @ceit He’s a giant schnauzer, but he’s pretty small for his breed 🙂

  • This is just beautiful! Congratulations Genesis and Matt! So nice you could bring your dogs. I immediately looked up this amazing little gem of a place to stay and eat! So green for Sedona.
