DIY Cake Topper
Wedding cakes have long been the sweethearts of wedding receptions, but over the past few years, wedding cake toppers have been the ones stealing the show. And with so many unique ideas, how can you blame them? Today we’ve got Kathryn Godwin in to show us how she made these inspiring toppers out of simple cardstock and paper punchers. You’ll have to see it to believe how easy it is!
Instructions after the jump!
For this project you will need:
-cardstock paper
-craft paper puncher of desired shape
-PVA Glue
-skewer or toothpick
Instructions:
1. Use paper puncher to cut shapes from cardstock pieces.
2. Begin to lay out shape of cake topper in a row, dip end of skewer in glue and dab to overlapping pieces. Use the opposite end to clean up any exposed glue.
3. After the long belt is finished, pull ends together in a ring and glue, use clothespins to hold in place while glue dries.
4. Save extra cut pieces for your baker and they can work it into other elements of your cake!
