Artsy Victoria Garden Wedding
This wedding from Ameris has it all: a little bit bohemian, a little bit woodsy, and a bit modern for just the perfect blend of chic wedding style. Add in a perfect bouquet from Cartref Gardens, portraits of the newlyweds peacefully lounging in a canoe, and a wedding gown fit for a princess and we couldn’t be happier!
From the bride, Laura: We envisioned a woodland style for the wedding. We wanted our wedding to truly represent us so obviously we wanted the wedding to be about what’s important to us… Jesus, our love + having lots of fun! James is a musician so music was very important to us as well. We worked hard on picking out every song involved. Our colours were mint + peach with a touch of gold.
I made the coffee filter flowers, bird cake toppers, giant pom background, gold sparkly J + L letters, table numbers, spray painted pine cones & wooden letters, fabric altar, wooden signs, guest book, flower girl headbands, photo booth props, birdseed favors. My maid of honour made the guys bow ties + boutonnières. A friend made all the wooden rounds.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Be very organized! (If you’re not organized, hire a wedding planner! Seriously.) But for those of you who are organized… do DIYs well in advance so the last week isn’t too crazy. I planned a night with my girlfriends months in advance and we tackled all those coffee filter flowers! Keep in mind to make the planning process fun! Don’t go all bridezilla on your bridesmaids. No one wants to do a bunch of crafts with a drill sergeant.
Don’t ever forget that you get to marry the love of your life…that is an amazing thing! Keep him involved with the plans + DIYS… We planned almost everything together. James did all the manly things, like saw wood for all the signs + table numbers. And on the day of your wedding leave all the plans with a trusted friend (I recommend giving them a minute by minute rundown) or wedding planner… then, let go and just focus on being completely there. Be happy + incredibly thankful! Also, take some time as a couple (once the ceremony is done) to breathe for a moment. The wedding day goes by incredibly fast, so I highly recommend taking a moment to soak it in. Our photographer encouraged us to do this while we were in the boat. It was a pretty special moment.
