Being on the front lines of a pandemic is challenging enough. But planning a wedding on top of that? We can’t imagine. Farah & Andrew’s story is one of resilience, courage and hope. From the Planner & Designer, Ketty Delights: Farah and Andrew first crossed paths when Andrew messaged Farah on Instagram complimenting her outfit. After messaging for a few days, numbers were exchanged and a first date took place with dinner and dancing. Their whirlwind romance began from then on.
Three years later, Farah and Andrew were ready to tie the knot. The couple had a vision of an industrial, rustic wedding. Slowly but surely, everything started falling into place once they found the perfect venue in late 2019 for the September 2020 nuptials.
During the second week of March 2020, Farah, a critical care nurse in NYC, knew something was up when she arrived at her hospital to find out that she would be reassigned to COVID critical care unit. The world changed within days with the pandemic, leaving the couple’s September wedding to a large uncertainty.
The pandemic presented another layer of difficulties for the couple. Farah and Andrew have family members all around the world, and they could not picture the first day of their new beginning without the presence of their family. So, any change to their wedding date would require not only coordinating with vendors, but also with their relatives who would be visiting from abroad. At first, the couple decided to wait a few months to see if things would get better. But by late July, they had to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone their wedding to April 2021.
Changing from a fall wedding to a spring wedding, learning about new regulations and risk factors, and having concerns about guests’ health and safety, planning the wedding a second time around was a whole new experience for Farah and Andrew. Despite many unexpected obstacles, Farah and Andrew’s love triumphed and were able to celebrate their nuptials with the help and dedication of amazing family, friends, and vendors.
Well that was pretty darn adorable, don’t you think? We can’t imagine a better way to style an art factory wedding venue than industrial lights, textured blooms, an overload of greenery and bold black bridesmaid fashion. For more wedding ideas like this, check out this moody loft inspiration next.
