Southern Garden Wedding
This morning’s wedding took place at Tiny Boxwoods, a location which works double time as a restaurant and plant nursery. It suited newlyweds Sarah and Lee to such a T that it was the only location the two even visited, and it’s easy to see why! Their wedding day was captured to perfection by the wonderful Eric Kelley.
From the bride, Sarah: We wanted a very laid back, southern garden wedding. Tiny Boxwood’s has a wonderful garden feel so we decided to accent that with some southern touches (mason jars, twine, a southern menu). We had chalkboard artists come in and decorate chalkboards around the venue for directions and menus. We also played a silent film during the wedding reception to add to the playful southern tone. There were couches and blankets on the lawn for people to enjoy the movie.
We had many colors we wanted in the wedding… coral, turquoise, navy, yellow, ivory and all the natural greens from the gardens. Some of our friends started a wedding services business (Huckleberry Creative) and they did all of the flowers and center pieces along with the save the dates and invites.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Don’t be afraid to embrace your personal style and stray away from tradition.
