DIY Irish Cream Favors

Who isn’t excited for the holidays? Our next project made by Elizabeth is yet another great project for the upcoming holiday season. This idea can also be used for non-alcoholic coffee creamer recipes, like Pumpkin Spice. Holla!

It can be prepared a couple weeks in advance, and can be given to everyone no matter the gender.

Step 1. Make sure the bottles are clean and dried before you mix.

Step 2. I originally found the recipe on cooks.com, but have altered it to my taste. It doesn’t matter if you’re a disaster in the kitchen with scant cooking skills. All you need to do is mix the ingredients together in one large bowl with a whisk, and make adjustments as you wish. Use a funnel to pour the drink into your bottles. I like to use Canadian whiskey. I splurge on one bottle of fine liquor, then use it in several favors — you can make it as strong or as light (and make it for like a coffee creamer) as you desire.

Step 3. You can be creative as you wish with your labels. I prefer to use plain cream paper and hand-write them for a personal and antique-looking touch. Here’s the text I include on a label: Elizabeth’s Homemade Irish Cream. Shake Well before serving. Will keep in your refrigerator for up to two months. Enjoy!

You can include other gourmet food items with the drink if you wish, it’s a great match paired with whole-bean coffee, or with oatmeal-butter scones. This gift is money-saving, time-saving, yet truly decadent. Additionally, its ephemeral. You receive it, enjoy it, and its gone, not leaving behind any clutter like other knickknacks. Finally, if you’re doing your own alcohol (another huge money saver), consider serving this at your reception. It tastes phenomenal on the rocks, in coffee, or in hot cocoa!

  • My hubby-to-be is Irish, so these would make perfect favors for our wedding next year! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  • Good stuff! I went to Britain this summer and had some afternoon tea and scones, and it was absolutely delicious I decided to try and make my own last week. I might have broken a few rules though – I found a site full of random scone recipes here and made 5 different ones! My friends were so happy when I invited them round for tea and scones. Lots of fun!

  • We already make limoncello, but this will be a welcome addition to our repertoire!
