Glamorous Garden Wedding

The very first thing to catch our eye in today’s wedding, which was all captured by Amanda K Photography, was the bridesmaids dresses. A neutral color palette with some patterned gowns thrown in, AND they were made by the bride’s sister? What’s not to love! After a modern, feminine yet modern wedding reception, Pamela and Shane skipped town for a honeymoon in Paris, Aix en Provence, Barcelona, and Mallorca.

From the bride, Pamela: I had envisioned an outdoor Parisian wedding. I love pink, hearts, Chanel and everything feminine and girly but wanted a modern look to it all.

I was very inspired by Chanel. I ran across a photo of a backdrop made of paper flowers from a Chanel runway show, and instantly I knew I had to have something like this in our wedding. We purchased a flower making kit from Paper-Source and made hundreds of paper flowers for the arch where the ceremony took place. We kept the color scheme was very neutral – white, blush and cream with a hint of black to give it that modern touch. The sequined linens, mirrored vases and mercury glass votives tied everything together perfectly. It was perfect combination of everything I loved.

Winter Thaw & Spring Beginnings

Photos By: Emily Delamater

This dream tablescape captured by Emily Delamater Photography and created by L. Brook Events will leave you wishing for winter to linger a little bit longer. Welcoming Spring with a ridiculous amount of beautiful images, the inspiration behind this late winter wedding is just the perfect way to bid winter adieu.

From Emily Delamater Photography and L. Brook Events: As the last of Winter falls away, signs of green and warmth start to make their way through. We wanted to highlight this time and accentuate the thaw of winter and awakening of Spring with soft pops of color, rustic knits and vintage props. Pale blues, teals and green are reminiscent of our coastal landscape and appear much brighter amidst the pale white canvas of snow. Our idea to include peach David Austen roses highlights the romantic blush that winter and young love bring to our cheeks. The inclusion of vintage details and props helps to create a sense of fantasy and reverie. We wanted to keep the flowers & styling soft and aery but also include darker elements with a few blacks and silver in contrast.

When we first decided to do a winter inspiration shoot, it was important to us that we captured the unparalleled beauty of this magical season. Living in the Northeast, particularly Maine means that winter sometimes lasts for what seems like forever. Usually by March, many people are fleeing the state to warmer climates to escape the seemingly never ending frigid temperatures and the isolation that winter brings. However winter in the North East can be as magical as C. S Lewis describes in his tales of Narnia.

Just before we were scheduled to shoot we had a historic blizzard that was quickly followed by a few days of unseasonably warm weather. With this weather came the first stages of the winter thaw. Melting snow, moss and the first pops of grasses through the snow all combined to highlight the pale green and blue palette of our design, while also giving a new sense of romanticism to our shoot.
Just as young love promises, winter thaw promises the return of vitality and warmth to our landscape.
