Bohemian Nouveau Wedding
Goodness gracious, what this wedding does to me. Chris and Erman had a bohemian outdoor wedding ceremony with a most amazing setup, and had their friends and photographer Abdi of Three Photographers capture their wedding day. Between the incredible wild bouquet and the jack-o-lantern table numbers, this wedding is one for the fall books!
From the bride, Chris: Our style was definitely bohemian, with a touch of nouveau. Lots of lace, crystals, silver and copper. We wanted the country feeling but with a bit of refinement. Romantic yet easy. We had the bridesmaids wear whatever they wanted, just told them creams, blushes and flowy or lacy. Brown shoes, boots or clogs. Backyard appropriate. The fellas were in dark jeans and mellow colors. My maids of honor (I had two, also the photographers) made the flowers from my yard. I made the boutonnières from feathers I collected.
We strung the clothesline on the house for the seat cards. Burned each of them and used stamps for the numbers. Carved pumpkins for the tables. I purchased loose chandelier crystals from etsy and strung them together with Xmas ornament hooks. Then taped them on hangers and hung them from the trees. I purchased fall flowers (mums, grasses, vines and ground covers. We will be planting all of them so we an enjoy them every year on our anniversary). They were put in baskets we borrowed from our local farm stand.
My ring was my husband’s grandmother’s and his came from Pale Fish on etsy. We each got a band engraved with the date and our initials. Emailed our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn and asked them for the recipe for our favorite cocktail the rocchio at five leaves. We served this and an Old Fashioned.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Details count! Try to get as much done as you can in advance so you can enjoy your friends and family! I ordered voodoo dolls as our “cake topper” a month in advance. The company sent them twice and I still didn’t get them in time. And let go. You can’t do everything your self!
