Whimsical Michigan Beach Wedding
Let this be known: rain will never stop weddings! Shot by Jenn Emerling and planned and designed by Ali Strickland of A Gypsy Fête, Meghan and Brian’s whimsical wedding went ahead as planned despite all of the looming gray skies, and it was beautiful! While the rain held off, Jenn captured some precious moments between the bride and groom on the beach among the wildflowers; and as everything moved to the tents, she worked her photographer magic and shot some of the most unique beach wedding decor I’ve ever laid my eyes on. No seashells here! The Foxglove Studio carefully crafted wedding centerpieces with box planters acting as holders as they were packed in with garden roses, dahlias, daisies, and succulents. To round it off, antlers, lace, and votives were strewn down the tables. This was a beach wedding done so right, even if the rain came!
From the photographer, Jenn Emerling: Meghan + Brian got married in Brian’s hometown — a sleepy Lake Michigan beach town of about 1,000 people. Their family and friends rallied together when their ceremony became completely soaked by a major rainstorm and had to move everything into the tent. But this did not damper their emotional, joyous wedding, and they had a pretty amazing dance party all through the night! The videographer and I were lucky enough to get lots of beautiful portraiture of the couple in the sand dunes and wildflowers along the beach before the rain came.
