From Nickel Images: I am so in love with this wedding. It oozes these two people’s personalities perfectly. Lucy and Bret met swing dancing a few years ago, and ended up falling in love and eventually, getting married! What I LOVE is that Bret fully embraces vintage, and does so in a stylish, classic way. Just look at his details. Lucy found her vintage 1930’s gown at a boutique in Seattle, along with her sisters 1950’s dress and her mother’s 1930’s gown. Lucy’s veil was also made from vintage and re-purposed netting and embellishments.
For the wedding, they combined all sort of elements to create their perfect centerpieces. Lucy and her mom crochet the red doilies, the wood was from her mom’s house, the touches of cotton were from Bret’s grandparents cotton farm, and the couple even reused wine bottles as vases (they cut the tops off).
Other noteworthy details were the flags for the ceremony. The venue is located right in a flight path, so in order to embrace the airplanes that flew by (about 1 a minute), Bret and Lucy gave their guests flags to wave as they went by. Talk about a great comedic relief during the ceremony.
The Reception was full of dancing (with a live jazz band!), the cake was made by a friend, and in the end, it was a beautiful reflection of what makes these two complete.

LOVE the floral garland at the “altar”!
so so classy and stylish!
Absolutely beautiful! I love the originality that went into this creative couple’s wedding. They were not afraid to just go for it – include all the details and thematic elements that truly tell the story of who they are together. From the homemade centerpieces to the cut of the cloth they both wore, the whole affair looks fantastic.
Bravo!
Think thats a great idea for a wedding with a difference, the couple certainly came up with something original and fun at the same time!!
