Today’s mini wedding in Seattle is a perfect picture of single source inspiration – this time, it was a beautiful blue + white fabric with a floral print to die for! Soft watercolor brushstrokes dance seamlessly from paper goods and wedding day fashion to bespoke cake and dinner china. Willow & Ivy Events exquisitely balances this patterned muse across every facet of the day, without it feeling too bare or too overdone. Juxtaposed against the monochromatic florals from Petal & Vine, packed with depth, texture and movement, the result is a blueberry hued dream! We think you’ll agree once you glimpse this darling gallery from Sarah Harris Photography below. Shall we?
From the Designer, Willow & Ivy Events: Creative inspiration comes from a plethora of places. It could be a color palette, a place, a feeling. For Alex of Willow & Ivy Events and this mini wedding in Seattle, it was a fabric. A blue and white watercolor floral suit to be exact.
The groom’s attire was the first piece of the puzzle for this creative team. From there, a fine art feel with an edgy punch blossomed into a soft ethereal tablescape with bright blue hues and rich berries kicked up a notch with black flatware and black and white leather menu booklets and tassel place cards from Texture & Tequila.
Let’s start with those place cards. Classic fine art postcards feature a vellum overlay with handmade black leather tassels and modern calligraphy. This combination of classic, fine art, modern, and edgy is the epitome of what this wedding day is all about.
The juxtaposition between the classic Daughters of the American Revolution Rainier Chapter House venue with it’s regal columns and green gardens and the bride’s modern beaded wedding gown and high black leather booties creates such magic!
Add in the couple’s tattoos, the leather vow books, and the modern acrylic signage spray painted black and you have a polished yet edgy wedding design that is totally on brand with the couple’s personality. Sarah Harris Photography captured everything in film to create such a dreamy aesthetic.
Not only were there blueberry champagne cocktails but the black pepper chai cake from Sift and Gather was a stunner. With custom sugar paper watercolor flowers, a layer of white florals, and a black buttercream topper you can’t go wrong!
Not only is it beautiful but absolutely delicious! On the table you will find two fluffy floral centerpieces from Petal and Vine accented with bowls of various blue fruits to keep the color story alive and well.
The blue patterned salad plates from Balancing Balloons add a little pop to the table with those crazy cool leather menus and place cards tying it all together.
All in all, this is the mini wedding in Seattle of our dreams! Check out another reader fave featuring a blue and white palette here next.
