Scarborough Fair Wedding Inspiration
We just love the inspiration behind today’s shoot oh-so-much. Inspired by the herbs listed in Simon & Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair,” the talented team of White Rabbit Studios, Kathleen Bernal Events, and Old Frond set to work on a styled shoot incorporating these fragrant green bits. The result? Total romantic bliss.
From the event designer, Kathleen Bernal Events: This wedding inspired styled shoot, entitled “fair and light,” was designed and planned by Kathleen Bernal Events and photographed perfectly by Ashley Vaughn, with White Rabbit Studios. The inspirations for this shoot were the herbs, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme, as listed in the Simon and Garfunkel song, “Scarborough Fair.” Taking us back to the Medieval times, these particular herbs were often used in wedding bouquets, as symbols of love and prosperity, and ways to ward off bitter and sad feelings. Not only are their scents heavenly, but they are also long-lasting. Mixing these age-old traditions with modern foliage created a stunning set of florals for the bouquet and table decorations. Styled in a magical woodsy area, with traces of a snowy day still remaining, we could not have asked for a more romantic setting.
To accompany the theme, Crazy Bakey Things created a spread of delicious and beautiful cakes and sweets. Brought to the spread were unique butterscotch-pecan pie pops, blackberry pinwheel cookies, and a small, 5-tiered Finnish Runeberg Cake, with golden Gumpaste feathers, foliage and blackberries. Other pieces to this styled shoot were modern calligraphy, hand-picked china pieces and silverware, select vintage furniture, and a vinyl record player. A vintage pink dress, styled with an ivory-laced top, and silk ribbon sash, helped complete this shoot to make it absolutely magical and dreamy in so many ways.
