Rustic Texas Wedding

Like vintage cars and dreamy photos? Then you will love this wedding sent by Clayton Austin! Mandy and Ben’s wedding took place outside of Austin in Texas’s gorgeous hill country. The stunning location lent itself perfectly to the rustic feel of the wedding.

From the bride, Mandy:

We were both born and raised in Texas. We live in Houston. We both enjoy the outdoors and nature. We wanted something rustic, simple, and beautiful also. That is why we chose the Texas Hill Country… not Houston.

We knew that there would not be anywhere in Houston that would fit our ideal wedding location. We also knew that there would be many guests flying in from other states, so we wanted somewhere with an airport in the vicinity. We love the areas surrounding Austin. We googled rustic weddings Texas and found the perfect location…Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs.

They were set up for an outdoor ceremony and had the rustic barn for the reception and air conditioning.

Our venue had just what we wanted, and as an extra bonus that had an awesome old car sitting in the parking lot.

Our cakes and desserts were a labor of love mostly completed by family members. They did a great job making a number of deserts that Ben and I love. His grandpamade his famous “Tennessee Stack Cake” to serve as the grooms cake. Ben’s college friend Ashley Griffith made our wedding cake. She made exactly what we asked for.

My mom’s friend Ruth did my flowers. She did amazing work and they were all so beautiful. We bought them from a wholesale store in Houston and she transported them to Austin.

Some advice from Mandy:

Just breathe. Cry if you need to and ask your fiance and others around you for help if you start to get overwhelmed. There are so many people willing to pick up some of the slack when all the different details and aspects start to get jumbled.
