Time Traveler’s Wife Wedding Ideas

An inspiration shoot designed loosely around “The Time Traveler’s Wife” elicits the ideal amount of nostalgia and vintage appeal we love to see here at Ruffled. With Renee Nicole Design + Photography behind the camera and One Stone Events taking the reins with the design and styling, this photoshoot is a must-see!

From the photographer, Renee Nicole Design + Photography: We wanted to portray the essence of man and woman symbolically through the pocket watch (man) and the hourglass (woman). The story takes place in the fall on a beautiful farm in a moment where time has stopped and love is eternal. The concept and design by One Stone Events has a bit of a ‘Time Traveler’s Wife’ feel to it. Old McMicky’s Farm was the perfect backdrop for this shoot and Renee Nicole Design + Photography captured the dreamy feeling we were going for beautifully.

The color palette is plum, blush and mustard with accents of gold. Renee Nicole Design + Photography used bold graphics and mid-century inspirations for the paperie which were a great complement to the design elements they were incorporated into. The tablescape was designed around the large hourglasses and the linen, provided by Connie Duglin, was to look like the bustle of a bridal gown to lend a more romantic feel to the table. Sheepskin rugs were used as placemats and slate cheese boards served as chargers. The plates from Dishie Rentals were the perfect choice for that hint of ‘fairytale’. The chandelier from Tampa Lights glowed with perfection at sunset. The time showing on the clock is the table number. Each seating card was attached to a smaller modern hourglass and the napkin ‘rings’ were clock hour hands. The chairs from Wish Vintage Rentals had a cutout design that looked like a pocketwatch in an hourglass. These subtle details reinforced the inspiration behind the theme.

pocketwatch escort cards

The escort card display has beautiful pocket watches from Parresol Jeweler hanging from a large driftwood structure set at the table number time on the guests tag. The times used as table numbers coordinate with important dates from the couple’s history together (first date, first kiss, engagement, etc.) A budget-friendly alternative to the real pocket watches would be to have paper pocket watches using the same idea.
