Handmade Industrial Wedding

Lauren and Tyler’s love story is one of those I just live to hear — after thirteen years of chasing each other in one way or another, the pair finally wed this year with photographer Cami Parker in tow to capture their day. Their venue – The Historic Icehouse – set the tone for their industrial setting, blending soft pinks and peaches with the raw space.

From the bride, Lauren: Tyler and I met 13 years ago in a small church in New Jersey. Because we have such a special history, we decided our invitation needed to share our love story with all of our guests. We collaborated on writing, making sure we shared both of our perspectives.

We spent many Saturdays shopping Goodwill all over the state collecting lace. Lace curtains, lace tablecloths, lace shower curtains, you name it we bought it; over 300 pieces worth. We also began collecting glass vases and silver trays for our florist to use for small arrangements and hundreds of candles on the tables.

I found an idea for a fabric chandelier online to hang over the dance floor. Tyler used a hula-hoop and I bought a battery operated light fixture to put inside it. We used the same fabric from the altar and it was exactly how I pictured it would look!

After the ceremony, Tyler and I were able to sneak into the room where the reception would take place, just the two of us. All of the flowers were beginning to open up in their vases, the candles were lit, the string lights and chandelier glowed above us and he spun me around the middle of the dance floor. It was one of the most special moments of the day.

Because we worked so wonderfully with all of our vendors, we were able to relax and really enjoy our special day. The best part of the night for both Tyler and I, was sitting at the front of the room surrounded by all of the most important people in our lives. It is something we know we will probably never get to experience again and we took it all in. We knew that our photographer, Cami Parker and our videographers, Loren and Lex Brinton were also capturing all of these special moments as well. So when Tyler and I are old and gray, and our memory begins to fade, we can look back at our photos and video of this day and relive it again and again.
