Retro Australian Elopement Ideas
As soon as we saw the story Juli of One Sweet Girl cooked up of a retro bride and groom who recognized from their own wedding, we knew it was going to be something pretty sweet — and images from Stewart Leishman are always a treat. Toss in a farmer who comes to the rescue, some strawberry cake, and a beyond incredible bouquet from The Bouquets of Ascha Jolie and we’re sure to swoon.
From the event designer, Juli of One Sweet Girl: This project came about from a few inspiration points – the ‘family’ car (a restored ’66 Chevy) – a chance discussion about my idea with the photographer whilst on another project together – and a plan with my friend Virginia (the florist on this project) about yet another idea involving strawberries… and so this particular story came to life.
Tina and Shainne are ‘goin to the chapel’ to get hitched… only they break down while taking a shortcut down a country lane. Whilst Shainne tries to repair the car, Tina indulges in some wedding cake (of course, what else is a bride to do but have her cake and eat it?!), and tries to wait patiently for them to be on their way… but fate intervenes in the form of a local farmer, who marries them in a field, then sees them on their way to married life with a bouquet toss out the car window.

I feel like it’s missing a guitar. There needs some elvis flair that is hinted at here. I love the idea!
