Portland Coffee Lovers Elopement Inspiration
Maybe you’re planning on eloping, but you know you don’t want to skimp on style — no worries, because this inspiration shoot shows you exactly how it’s done. Gina Neal Photography captured the images of a couple falling in love over coffee, and exchanging vows with only their officiant and the city skyline in sight. Thank you to Vintage Mingle and Starflower for your beautiful designs and styling!
From the event stylists and rentals provider, Vintage Mingle: Elopements aren’t what they used to be. Our inspiration for this classy Portland elopement captured by Gina Neal Photography came from stories of couples connecting and falling in love over a cup of coffee. We wanted to show brides-to-be that you can plan a simple elopement and still have pretty flowers and close family and friends to cheer you on. As true Portlanders, the elopement style is laid back with a dash of modern hipster and unique touches overflowing with meaning.
This romantic occasion styled and coordinate by Vintage Mingle was held at The Society Hotel, a restored historic building located in Old Town part of downtown Portland. It was the perfect venue. Offering rooftop with sky view of the Portland cityscape as they exchanged their vows with Heart Rock Ceremonies. The reception was in the cafe area of the hotel with beautiful tall windows shining natural light and the aroma of coffee set the cozy intimate ambiance. Florals by Starflower were modern and crisp, and a hint of the PNW rain forest with a spring color palette featuring rose, cherry blossom pink, pistachio green, and pops of purple and orange. The tablescape featured simple florals in clear medicine bottles accented by copper, glass, and brass candle holders by Vintage Mingle. Luscious laurel with jasmine vine covered the backs of the white shell Vintage Meets Modern chairs making the ambiance feel warm and romantic in an effortless way.
The bride’s white sleeveless crew neck jumpsuit and complementing Camel Lloyd faux leather jacket were rented for a steal on Rent the Runway. Hair and makeup by Olivia Hawthorne featured a deep side part with loosely swept curls and a modern cat eye with fresh pops of apricot. The bride wore earrings from her personal jewelry line, Barrow, and the wedding rings by Angeline matched their spontaneous personalities with a striking champagne pink topaz rose gold ring for her and a complementing custom rose gold band for him. Guests were invited to partake in an array of mini poppy seed Bundt cakes dripping with white icing and decadent pastries inspired by their favorite local coffee shop. Cakes and pastries by Just a Dash were displayed for nibbling on Vintage Mingle cake pedestals atop an eye-catching marble, rose pentagon table and side table by Vintage Meets Modern. Signage and the couple’s written vows by Letters + Dust were clean, airy, and filled with whimsy. Gotta love the coffee stain on the invitation. Generous party favor baskets filled with handmade ceramic mugs, recipe and key ingredients of the couples favorite drink, Simple Maple latte, were the perfect takeaway to show their appreciation to family and close friends. A perk to having small guest count. After the guests leave and the party winds down, the newly married couple can sneak away to their hotel room where they enjoy a moment alone with champagne and cake to celebrate the perfect end to the perfect day in Stumptown. So chill, so Portland.
