Pink and Burgundy Wedding Inspired by Blooms
Maggie and Ryan’s wedding was a stunning and unforgettable event that showcased the perfect combination of romance, sophistication, and botanical details. Held at the beautiful Anthony Wayne House, the ceremony was set in an open-air tent adorned with twinkling lights that created a dreamy ambiance. Every aspect of the wedding, from the intricate stationery to the groom’s elegant burgundy suit and the stunning ceremony arch, was thoughtfully planned and executed with perfection. The love between Maggie and Ryan was evident throughout the day, and their happiness and joy radiated in every photo captured by the talented Maria Mack Photography. Get inspired by their love story, as Maggie shares their beautiful journey to their special day.
What style and feel did you envision for your wedding?
We loved the idea of a romantic, garden wedding with the feeling of being at a very beautiful backyard party. The Anthony Wayne House was the perfect venue for that with its open outdoor space and lush gardens.
What are some adjectives that best describe the look of your wedding?
The look of the wedding was very romantic and rustic-glam. We used many candles and lush florals to create a dreamy atmosphere that was complementary to the open tent and twinkle lights provided by the venue. Our color scheme was blush and burgundy with metallic accents. DIY projects included the seating cards (Etsy print outs and frames from Michael’s), the chalkboard signs (bought from Michaels and drawn by the sister-of-the-bride) as well as the Jenga blocks and corn hole boards (handmade by the father-of-the-groom).
What flowers were used for your bouquet and/or floral arrangements??
All of the beautiful florals were put together by Q|A Designs and they went above and beyond for our event. The bouquets featured a mix of dahlias, ranunculus, spray roses and ruscus greenery. The florals were all burgundy, blush and magenta. Similar florals were used for the stunning pergola and centerpieces. We designed three styles of centerpieces and spread them out across the tables to create some variety.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Wedding planning is not easy, no matter how much you try to simplify it! My best advice is to build a vision with your partner before speaking with other family members and friends about wedding planning. Outside influences can be beneficial, but can also cause unnecessary stress on the couple. It is also important to do lots of research on your vendors, read ALL of the reviews and search Instagram hashtags for inspiration. I found many of my vendors via social media as they had all worked together in the past and highlighted each others work. This made for a seamless wedding day and a beautiful event.
What songs did you play at your wedding?
For our wedding, Ryan and I wanted to steer clear of the traditional processional songs. We chose three processional songs – “Sweet Thing” by Van Morrison for our parents, “River” by Leon Bridges for the bridal party and “Fade into you” by Mazzy Star for the bride. For our recessional we chose “Signed, Sealed Delivered” by Stevie Wonder. Our first dance was the classic Elvis Presley song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
