Pastel Slovak Wedding

This sweet wedding captured by Peter & Veronika Photography connected many dots on the map. The bride, from Slovakia; the groom, from Madasgascar. Their wedding story began in New York, where Neli said yes. From there, the wedding planning began back in her hometown. They took bits of inspiration from Paris, and the result is a sweet intimate wedding full of global touches.

After seven years together, we decided to get married. Karim proposed to me on the boat in the middle of Central Park in New York, and one year later, we said our vows in Slovakia.

We decided to have hand-made “French romance wedding in the nature” and the result was fabulous. The main inspiration were pastel colours like mint, coral and yellow, the natural materials like wood, paper, jute and lace fabrics, lots of flowers and the sixties retro fashion. We created hand-made stationery, decorated the terrace and rustic restaurant with paper balloons, painted hearts, lace tablecloths and lots of ribbon on the chairs and wedding tables. Moreover I drew my tea length wedding dress and found a tailor who made them for me.

The entire wedding was full of magic moments. Our families from Slovakia and Madagascar, our friends from France and other countries helped us to create lovely and cheerful atmosphere. The ceremony was very emotional thanks to our vows and Karim singing for me in front of everyone. People were crying and laughing at the same time. The rest of the day was full of surprises, like Karim’s sisters dancing on Bollywood song, the best men sharing funny video and bride’s maids preparing lovely games. In the end, we were happy to put so much time and creativity in preparing every small detail and choosing amazing local wedding suppliers. Together we created the wedding reflecting our personality, love and dreams that will stay forever in our most precious memories.
