Modern Wedding Tribute to Elvis and Priscilla Presley

As lovers of all things vintage, how could we possibly resist this styled shoot from From SF with Love and Lily Spruce? Every bit is inspired by the retro sensibilities of early rock ‘n’ roll, but updated with modern decor accents and a dedication to keeping everything fresh and local. The shoot is brimming with great party ideas anyone can achieve, so let’s take a look!

From the planner/stylist, Genevieve Roja of Lily Spruce and the photographer/stylist, Laurie Wilson of From SF with Love: For this photo shoot, we were inspired by Elvis and Priscilla Presley, since Geraldine and Johnny are musicians and love all things vintage. We wanted to make the shoot relatable to modern couples—both vintage and down-to-earth, and bring that era into the now with special touches and details that would feel organic in our Bay Area backyard. The venue, Shelldance Orchid Gardens, is in a sweet coastal town called Pacifica, just south of San Francisco along Highway 1.

We gathered some of our favorite vintage-inspired vendors in the San Francisco Bay Area who share a similar sense of style. It felt magical to work with these talented vendors, and our chemistry was apparent in the way things organically came together—including the polka dot and green tone themes that developed naturally. Staying true to our San Francisco roots, all of the vendors shared a value to keep things local—even the flowers and food ingredients were sourced locally.

Vintage elements were incorporated throughout the shoot, from the big things like the vintage BMW and classic Honda motorcycle, to the small details like the heirloom china and glassware, and the wedded lovebirds’ jewelry. For the love of music, we used a classic record player and made confetti out of vintage music sheets.
