Today’s styled shoot has a look that’s sure to please both brides and grooms, fusing feminine and masculine design concepts into one cohesive event. Heart and Sparrow, J’Adore Décor Styling + Event Planning, and Willow & Whimsy put together a blend of modern and organic styles set in an industrial space for a wedding theme that’s sure to be timeless!

From the photographer, Natalie of Heart and Sparrow: The inspiration behind our photoshoot came from our backdrop – The HQ sits in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Calgary, in a former factory turned creative space. We wanted to juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture with an overall romantic feel. At the same time, it was also really important to infuse the shoot with masculine elements while at the same time maintaining a softness and femininity.

It’s very easy for brides to envision a look for their wedding that is very feminine – this shoot definitely has a color palette (greenery, dark woods, blacks, pops of marsala) and design elements (scotch bar) that gravitate towards the masculine. I think this shoot is a great balance between both.
