Mayfield Lavender Bridal Inspiration
When Surrey photographer Eddie Judd had a hankering to throw together a bridal inspiration shoot, she immediately thought of a nearby lavender field and enlisted the aid of stylist Charley Beard of London Bride. Together with the help of myriad other UK vendors, the group put together this stunning bohemian photoshoot at dusk. Don’t miss the teaser video shot by the amazing Paul Gwilliams!
From the stylist, Charley Beard of London Bride: Photographer Eddie Judd approached me to help style and bring together a photo shoot at one of her favourite locations, the lavender fields near her home in South London. Eddie has photographed many family shoots here but was inspired by the stunning backdrop to create a bridal shoot with a hazy summer bohemian feel.
The initial inspiration was recreating the laid back feel of being amongst the incredible lavender fields in Provence in France and I tried to bring elements of this to the styling. Both beautiful dresses were provided by Halfpenny London, the polka dot sleeved dress was part of the collection and the lace dress was in fact a stunning original vintage dress. The groom’s suit jackets, both the formal check and the grey velvet both reflected the 70s era and were original vintage jackets supplied by Tweedmans Vintage, we also teamed a lilac silk scarf for one of the looks.
The backdrop itself was so charming that I wanted to keep the flowers very natural and with a ‘handpicked’ feel, and Steph at Fairynuff Flowers put together a beautiful hand-tied bouquet of scented stocks in pastel colours tied with loose ribbon. A single lilac scabiosa flower was used for the groom’s buttonhole.
Severin from The Hepburn Collection styled the brides hair with a stunning front french-plait to frame the face, leaving the hair down (later loosely pinning up). Make-up artist Tammi Nguyen created a beautiful flawless look, with a subtle grey smoky eye and nude lips.
I created the picnic table for two with french style metal furniture, lace doilies, old bottles and delicious macarons, surrounded by zinc watering cans brimming with hydrangeas and bubbly babycham in coupé glasses for the couple to enjoy.

Oh wow, these are beautiful! What a gorgeous shoot and what wonderful colours
Can someone please tell me who is singing this version of “How Deep Is Your Love” by Bee Gees??
Agree with the above, they are all very beautiful pictures, and would also like to know who sings that version of “How deep is your love”.
This shoot is absolutely stunning! What a fun spot for a shoot, LOVE all of the touches and details.
Wow! this is just beautiful! It reminds me another era, possibly Bonnie and Clyde days. I could easily see a Blues band playing in the nearby field. Just gorgeous with a slight vintage blues/rock edge to it. love, Love , LOVE!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this, the girls are so talented and it turned out wonderful!!

“How Deep is Your Love” is covered by The Bird and The Bee in that video. Enjoy! 🙂
I’m not sure if this is it, but this is very close to the version of “How Deep is your love” featured in the video. This cover is by “the bird and the bee” off their clap your hands album. You can sample a clip here on amazon. Super close, but I’m not sure if that’s it:
