Literature Wedding Inspiration
A little inspiration from Anne of Green Gables, raspberry petit fours, and heaps of lace add up to make this shoot from Megan Hayes and Tasteful Tatters a shining example of literary romance. We’re particularly keen on the idea of tracing your wedding vows onto plates as a cute backdrop for the reception — and we’re ecstatic to be sharing just how to do this later today!
From the photographer, Megan Hayes: I recently worked on a styled wedding shoot with Emilee of Tasteful Tatters where we pulled inspiration from Anne of Green Gables but put our own twist on things for the modern bride. We incorporated elements related to Anne of Green Gables like the feel of the location, invitation wording, bride’s red hair, vintage china, book quotes, raspberry petit fours, books and a small chalkboard slate.
Our goal was to give the shoot a simple, farm life and romantic feel with an emphasis on the marriage. We incorporated their vows by having custom stamps made and then stamping the vows on hankies for them to read to one another during the ceremony portion of the shoot.

I love the way this couple used nature as part of their decor. It makes a statement and adds interest without having to break the budget. I really love the custom printed linen napkins as well. That was a really elegant and soft touch.
I love the vintage, home grown feel of this wedding! So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
That gown is so lovely. And I adore the streamers used for the ceremony backdrop.
So much thought and creativity went into this wedding…it shows up beautifully in these lovely images…loving the lace.
I am a HUGE fan of Anne of Green Gables and I think this wedding was beautiful. I love the plates with the vows written on them and the vintage/classic literature vibe. I am so jealous I didn’t think of it for my wedding!
