Hundred-Year-Old Hacienda Mountain Wedding in Costa Rica

It’s not everyone who can say that got married at the same place they first met. Lucia and Carlos chose their family’s farm as their venue and everything else fell naturally into place once they found the perfect place to celebrate their wedding. They hired Costa Rica wedding photographers Raw Shoots Photography to capture their day and One Heart Event Planning to ensure their wedding day went smoothly especially since they had to turn their farm into a wedding venue for a day!

From Lucia & Carlos:
Living in Costa Rica, we knew right from the start that our wedding venue had to be amazing. We went to many many places with our wedding planner and while they were all great, they all had one thing that didn’t quite fit our needs. After months we decided that the best place would actually be my family’s hacienda which is located in the heart of the countryside. The most special thing about this location was that it was actually the place where my husband and I first met. We were actually getting married in the same place where it all began. Not all couples have the opportunity to do this, so it was WOW.

The inspiration for the style and colors came very easily. I’ve always loved boho inspiration but I also wanted my wedding to be classy, so with the help of my very talented wedding planner, we came up with a “boho-chic” concept. The color palette had to be full of green as we were surrounded by mountains and nature, small details made in gold, a little bit of orange earthy tones, and of course one of my favorite colors: marsala-burgundy.

Since our wedding venue was not actually a venue itself, it required a lot of effort, planning, organization, sweat, and tears. We couldn’t have done it without our wedding planner, she was instrumental during the whole process (which took exactly 1 year and 4 months) and on our special day. She helped us in every way possible and because of her we got to meet so many amazing vendors. Our photographers, videographers, florists, makeup and hair designers, caterers, etc. Each one of them made this day the best day ever and for that, we will be forever grateful.
