Historic Garden Wedding Inspiration
Today’s inspiration shoot could best be summed up as “timeless traditional with a modern twist.” A talented team of vendors including Candice Adelle Photography, L.Havard Events, Social Supply Design and Decor, and Sidra Forman all came together to create a lush scene with a classic aesthetic but with updated accents, such as a table frame with hanging lights, a painted backdrop for a beverage display, and a dreamy bouquet full of the freshest colors in the wedding world. Let’s jump in!
From the photographer, Candice Adelle Photography: Our afternoon in this historic garden focused on timeless tradition with a modern twist. We imagined “setting the table” for an intimate gathering drawing inspiration from interiors of urban farmhouses mixed with pretty new accents and reconditioned classics.
We loved the challenge of bringing that feeling to life at a place like the American Horticultural Society. The mixed metals and variety of textures settled into the landscape alongside the stunning collection of flowers including one of our fall favorites, dahlias. To keep things fun, we left our guests with a quote to live by from Notorious B.I.G., opting for contemporary lettering in lieu of calligraphy. The Washington DC Area is full of dreamy wedding venues from historic homes and museums, wineries, old barns and glittery hotel ballrooms. This design transcends a variety of venues and would bring life back to any space.
