Handmade Villa Del Sol Wedding
The second I heard that the groom from today’s wedding (shot by the fantastic Joe+Kathrina) styled his look after Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I knew I had to see more. And let me tell you, this wedding did not disappoint! Cynthia and Brian’s wedding was a handcrafted labor of love, with personal touches galore and superb style choices by Cynthia, including her feather fascinator that she made on her own!
From the photographers, Joe+Kathrina: It took her a whole year to plan their wedding, and definitely no less. Their home turned into a Michaels and JoAnn’s store combined and nightly Brian would go around cleaning up fabric pieces. From the beginning Cynthia imagined a handmade wedding–complete with fabric flower bouquets and boutonnieres, reused bed sheets turned into their ceremony back drop, twigs and reused bottles for the centerpieces. Cynthia hunted down vintage doilies at flea markets for part of their table set up and individually hand stamped each name card. Brian also had his hand at styling himself and his groomsmen, after he saw Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the cover of GQ he knew exactly what he was wearing, including his signature cap to top off the look.
It was all a labor of love for these two — and at the end of the night Brian stood up in front of all their friends and family, holding back tears he looked at his wife and thanked her for all her hard work, for planning the perfect wedding and being an amazing woman he loved. It was a perfect day.
