Modern Meets 1920s Wedding Editorial

If you ask us, vintage inspired weddings shine the most when they’re blended with a bit of modern elements. Krista Esterling Photography, Anne Victoria Photography, and Saffron & Grey put together this styled editorial to show just how easy it is to mix 1920s style with modern ideas, using on-trend floral design and color palettes mixed with retro finger waves and vintage fashion for a look that’s oh-so-pretty.

From the photographers, Krista Esterling Photography and Anne Victoria Photography: Two photographers with one giant vision! Minneapolis-based Krista Esterling Photography and Duluth-based Anne Victoria Photography put their heads together and poured their hearts into this 20s inspired styled shoot with the goal of featuring the amazing talents of many Minnesotan wedding vendors in one gorgeous wedding shoot. Krista pulled half of the vendors from the Minneapolis, MN area, while Anne snatched the other half of the amazing vendors from the Duluth, MN area. Everything came together seamlessly for one big beautiful Minnesota mash-up.

Without a wedding coordinator on board (by choice!), Krista and Anne had the task of creating a full blown and well thought out shoot with all the details they envisioned. From choosing the appropriate vendors to work with as well as finding the right items from local antique and thrift stores, this was a months-long project that had input from all of the MN based wedding professionals.

All these gorgeous aspects made and picked specifically for this shoot by the many talented vendors combined beautifully with the heirloom and thrifted items of the shoot to really embody the balance of a modern wedding shoot done with 20s inspiration. One of the favorite pieces found was the deep burgundy crushed red velvet bridesmaid dress that Krista and Anne discovered at a local antique store in Anoka, MN, which served as the inspiration to add a Bridesmaid and Groomsman to their shoot. It was too perfect to pass up the opportunity and they feel this aspect added an amazing dimension to the session.
