Fall Wedding Flower Guide

Whenever we think we couldn’t fall more in love with flower arrangements, a bouquet by Janie Medley Flora Design comes along. With images by Tori Watson of Marvelous Things Photography and makeup by Emily Hudspeth, it’s not difficult to see why we’re falling hard for this look influenced by bride Ashley’s vintage Gunne Sax wedding gown!

From the photographer, Tori of Marvelous Things Photography: Back in the Fall of 2011, I had the privilege of shooting an amazing Virginia farm wedding for a darling couple, Nick & Ashley. When Ashley showed me the incredible vintage Gunne Sax dress she was considering wearing in her wedding, I DIED from how fantastic it was. But when she decided to go with a different dress for the big day, I knew that meant we would HAVE to do a styled shoot, sometime, with the Gunne Sax, because it was too amazing to simply be stuck in a closet. So this shoot has been in the works for over a year, really, and as Fall rolled around again, I was SO grateful to get the amazing Janie Medley on board for the gorgeous floral wreath and bouquet, and Emily Hudspeth for the perfect hair and make-up. I wanted to keep the overall shoot simple to let the dress and florals shine. Ashley made for a stunning model, and I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity for the images to be featured!

  • Oh my gosh! This is so beautiful! That dress, and those flowers and fabulous photos. I love it! 🙂

  • oh that’s stunning! the model, the dress, the flowers, the photographs!
and I’m in love with the dress, may I ask what size are they? I found the exact same ones in one vintage online shop but it says it’s size 11 and my normal size is 0-2 (xs-s) but I want them so much! oh and also, how does she wash the dress? cause it says on the tag dry clean only but I was wondering if cold water handwashing would be okay. I hope it does not bother you that I’m asking a bit irrelevant questions =/

  • oh and were the dress this white when bought? I always see very yellowy ones and I was wondering if it would come of after washing…thank you
