Celestial Wedding Inspiration Written In The Stars
We knew one thing for sure when we first laid eyes on this celestial wedding inspiration that was truly written in the stars – this one’s for keeps! Moody hues of onyx and azure blue pool together to create an ambiance of wonder on a galactic scale, and brightened by the dimming sun, this wedding inspiration is the perfect balance of ethereal romance and supernatural energy.
Rebecca Yale wows us yet again with these stunners. Her fine art craft is a hybrid of digital + film, and my do we admire the way she can tell a story.
Speaking of storytelling, the concept is all thanks to The Elegant Ninja who got her inspiration from the runway (and let’s be honest, is there a better source for inspo than fashion?!) Combining lightweight details with rich textures, she skillfully replicated the art of the sky – aka, constellations!
If flowers bloomed in space, then they might look something like this. Poppy Design Co. artfully bound the blooms in a rhapsody of magnetic blue, and we are completely enamored by that tablescape chandelier!
From the photographer, Rebecca Yale: This editorial set at the gorgeous Malibu Rocky Oaks, a private estate set atop a hill covered in vineyards in Malibu, was inspired by all things Celestial.
Okay, is it just us or are we all in agreement that these earrings from The Bealine should be purchased immediately?
Celestial themes were popping up on the runway all season and Jessica of The Elegant Ninja used it as inspiration for this editorial, showing brides how to bring the runway to their wedding. Although it was an editorial shoot, real-life couple Natalie and Luke modeled for us, which gave the photos a little extra special love in them.
The shoot featured three couture gowns from Monique Lhuillier, Rita Vinieris and Netta BenShabu Bridal that showed off how you could subtly include celestial hints to your look all the way to fully embracing it with a stunning starred gown.
The editorial played with different textures starting with a beautiful invitation suite by Cecil’s Paper & Co. that used acrylic, suede and metallic tones to set the scene for the day.
Jessica designed the beautiful ceremony site using clear acrylic ghost chairs with touches of celestial blue in the pillows, and Poppy Design Co. also used acrylic in her floral installation embracing shades of blue inside acrylic podiums at the front of the aisle.
Poppy Design Co. created a dramatic floral installation above the table which twinkled in the golden sunset light. Jessica set the table with multiple layers of see-through table cloths giving texture and dimension, which was topped with moon inspired plates and copper flatware.
Using a sequined linen from La Tavola for the tablescape, smoky glassware, and hole-punched votives for the light to sparkle through – the result is nothing short of brilliant.
These SHOES from Giuseppe Zanotti. Ahhhhh!
An unconventional blue engagement ring tied back to the blue used throughout the day and the pup even got in on the blue fun with a blue bow tie.
We’re forever starry-eyed over these bridal hairstyles and sultry, mysterious makeup looks from Tara Dowburd for Makeup Therapy.
The cake from Frost it Cakery was the perfect finishing touch, which was placed on a table in the pool, to feel as if it was floating and it was subtly painted with a celestial finish and simple purple flowers as adornment.
