An Elegant Wedding with a Lush Cascading Bouquet in the Woods of Australia

Sybilla and Paul met on Tinder, were engaged in New Zealand and married in Australia! This nature-loving couple wanted their wedding day to focus on what truly mattered: their love. Kashaya & Co went above and beyond with an elegant cascading wedding bouquet filled with field roses, orchids and lotus flowers that honestly has us weak in the knees. We can’t help but fall in love with every tender photo especially the cutest new family portrait with the couple’s dog, Teddy, captured by Lara Hotz Photography. So excuse us while we pin every. single. photo. to our wedding mood board.

Describe how you met your partner and the marriage proposal
We actually met on Tinder. Paul asked me out on 4 dates before I decided to say yes, and I’m glad I did. 3 years later, Paul proposed to me in New Zealand on a beautiful secluded jetty overlooking the water. We had just gone to see a glow worm cave (one I had visited before and had told him was my favourite place I had visited). I had an idea he might propose on the trip, but when he didn’t do it at the glow worm cave, I thought it wasn’t going to happen. When he actually did it, it took me by surprise. It was understated and perfect for us.

Ok but for real, can you even imagine a more beautiful cascading bouquet for your wedding? Heart eye emoji all day!

What made you choose your venue?
We chose the Pine Grove Forest in Centennial Park for the ceremony because we always wanted to be out in nature, surrounded by trees. We also spent a lot of time in the park with our dog Teddy, who was of course an integral part of our wedding. We then chose Regatta because it is close to our home and I wanted our venues to mean something to us and reflect the places we have made so many memories. Also, because the food, atmosphere and location on the water is beautiful. Both locations are understated and not your typical location, they are also sentimental.

Describe the styling of your wedding
I wanted white and green, with an overall elegant feel. I didn’t real want the wedding to be on trend, but rather something that could be timeless. We had minimal decorations with most styling to do with flowers and the natural beauty of the venues.

How did you go about choosing your flowers?
We let Kashaya & Co have full control over the flowers, she has a real talent. Everything was white flowers with rich flowing green foliage. My bouquet (which my mum suggested) flowed nearly all the way to the ground. It was a statement piece that stands out against all other bouquets I had seen. We had freesias, field roses, orchids, lotus flowers and delphiniums.

Describe any special moments during your wedding day
Having our puppy Teddy at the wedding was always so important to us. As I walked down the aisle, I went straight for him to give him a big kiss before joining Paul. Also, during our photos we were joined by a large group of geese and danced with them, it was an absurd but memorable moment.
