Editorial Wedding at Shepstone Gardens
We can’t think of a better way to kick off the week than with this elegant wedding inspiration by fine art curations. Rensche Mari and Myrtle Events & Styling helped to create a dream day for Melissa and Calvin, complete with immaculate floral details, beautiful shades of blue and green, and a reception that has us positively speechless.
From the bride, Melissa: Weddings have a bad reputation in some circles for always being surrounded by drama and stress. I was determined to prove that theory wrong. I studied the work of all the vendors I was interested in months in advance. I found the loveliest group of ladies who all worked so well together.
I found inspiration for my wedding from fine art wedding curations on Pinterest. I envisioned a well curated soft and romantic feel that would whisk people away on a beautiful visual journey. The main thing I wanted was for everyone to be happy to be there and enjoy themselves. I wanted a sense of calmness and peace to preside over the day and I wanted a look that would complement the sense of Old World charm at Shepstone Gardens. Neutrals and blues are generally perceived as the more peaceful colours so I used this as my base. Seeing that my diamond is a champagne diamond, I wanted the primary colour to be the champagne. I left my ring as being the only rose gold metallic accent to highlight it more. Old gold also complemented the charm of the venue. To add a pop of colour I opted for a navy accent.
