Eclectic Boho Wedding with Charming Rustic Touches
When the wedding venue is almost as beautiful as the bride, you know you’ve picked the right spot. Today’s wedding from Shari + Mike, Filosophi, and Billie’s Flower House is a romantic boho-eclectic lovefest featuring an outdoors reception with the most spectacular mountain views you could imagine. Let’s jump right in, yeah?
From the bride, Kim: From the start, Sam and I agreed on one thing about our wedding: it had to be different and feel like us. That immediately ruled out and traditional or formal venues such as golf courses, hotels etc. Most of Sam’s family is from the prairies and he had such great memories of attending farm weddings growing up. We both love the outdoors, so settling on a non-traditional, outdoor BC venue, North Arm Farm, was easy. The first time I visited North Arm Farm, I knew it was perfect. With a big open barn, wooden swings, and the stunning Mount Currie backdrop – it felt like us. I was super excited to make the venue represent our style, but knew I needed some help executing my vision. I was lucky to have two of the best working with me: Cahoots Creative and Filosophi. Together, we settled on a romantic boho-eclectic feel, and tried to make things a bit unexpected. We incorporated a stag’s head and rifle shell casings to make sure Sam’s personality and love of hunting was represented.
Some of my favourite elements of the design were the outdoor living room we created with some antique furniture and macramé and the dining tables. Instead of formal florals, we opted for eucalyptus garlands and terrariums with succulents. The antlers, oil lanterns and feathers on the head table were stunning. Sam’s dad and groomsmen were a great help designing and building posts to hang Edison bulb lights around and across the dining tables to bring it all together. The day could not have been any better for Sam and I. Surrounded by the most important people to us, in one of the most beautiful settings in BC, we got to make our promises to each other. It will definitely go down as the best day in our lives to date… can we do it all over again?
Note from the wedding planner, Erin of Filosophi: My favourite detail of the day was that we happened to have an extra deer skull brought by the decorator.. i took a look around and decided to hang it on the altar. A bit of an usual wedding detail, but knowing Sam was a hunter I went for it. Kim and Sam loved it, and I feel so lucky to have such fun, trusting clients that allow us the freedom to improvise in the moment. Good things always happen!

This wedding is just so different, love the tones. The dress is just gorgeous!
These look absolutely stunning. I love all the greens, the browns, the
whole composition, all of this. I definitely want to my wedding to look
like that. 🙂 I’m probably going to choose https://www.ajphotographer.ca/
for my photography sessions. You think that’s a good idea?
