Downton Abbey Inspired Wedding
Hello, self-professed “Downton Abbey” fan here, just thrilled over this beautiful wedding that landed in our inbox. I was immediately transported to the English countryside as I checked out the photos, and my ooh’s and ahh’s just couldn’t be contained. Amelia and Ari’s beautiful wedding shot by Golden Hour Studios had such a classic vintage feel, incorporating the timelessness of that “Downton” era. And let’s not forget those florals by Seasons A Floral Design Studio! The mix of deep berry tones with the lavender blooms amidst the grounds at Lyndhurst Castle is just such sight to love. A Downton Abbey inspired wedding indeed:
From the bride, Amelia: We wanted to get married in the Hudson River Valley, because we both grew up nearby water (Ari the Hudson River and Amelia the Great Lakes in MI) and it was close to our only living grandparent – 92-year-old grandmother of the groom. Ari and I met working in NYC, and shortly thereafter he was transferred to London. Ari became a fan of British style and I became a fan of Downton Abbey. The decor from the table settings to my hair (Lady Mary inspired fingerwaves) was inspired by the sophisticated style of the Edwardian Period in England. The cocktail hour featured Pimms Cup and tea sandwiches and the floral table arrangements included fresh fruits and vintage vases.
Wow! This wedding is amazing. So glam! Those bridesmaid dresses are just gorgeous!
A truly classy looking wedding. An absolute fairy tale
