Intimate Christmas Wedding
Matthew Moore‘s brother, Ryan and his wife Clairissa are such a lucky couple. They not only got to have amazing photographers for their wedding day, but Matthew and Katie also helped them plan their Christmas wedding. Being on a tight budget, luck strikes again when they found a gorgeous venue for 200 dollars. We just love their ornament guest book idea. So sweet and perfect for a holiday wedding!

From Katie Moore of Matthew Moore Photography: Ryan proposed to Clairissa in the fall of last year. The two of them wanted a short engagement and were on a very limited budget. So when they came to Matthew and I (Ryan is Matthew’s baby brother), very open to ideas, we knew just the place. We had come across the old Chataqua Theatre in Waxahachie TX a while back when scouting out shoot locations. The moment we stepped inside, we knew we would have to get someone we knew to have their wedding there! Its a beautiful 100 year old community theatre that is spilling at the seams with charm. It also helped that the fee to hold and event there was only 200.00! We couldn’t believe it! Small towns are the best for finding hidden gems for a great deal! From there the next thing decided was to have a “holiday wedding”.
There is no time of year that is more special and has more of a buzz in the air than the holidays! December 15th it was. We decided to have a holiday wedding with all of the decor, music, and food to go along with it! Most of the decor was done with fresh pine garland, christmas lights, red velvet ribbon and candles. Very easy on the budget, pine garland is only a few dollars a foot, so there was plenty to play with. The one splurge in the budget that was worth every single penny was all of the Signage done by Amy Heitman. They had such a huge impact and just pulled everything together. For the food, they did all holiday desserts and drinks. Think cider, hot cocoa and lots of home made deserts from family members. Clairissa had tons of people that baked and lent old silver and dishes and helped put up decorations. It was so appropriate, having so many people that love this young couple doing little things here and there so that they could have a day as special as theirs was. Old Christmas tunes played all evening and the buzz in the air was so sweet and charming.

Why the wedding planner choose a yellow curtain. I prefer a red one at Christmas. I like the Christmas themed wedding.
I absolutely love the gold curtains. They look so historically accurate to an old theater and I think they tie in the Christmas theme without overwhelming the wedding. I would definitely renew my vows there. Were is this exactly?!?! Sign me up!!
