This Maine Wedding Had a Ceremony Sans Music
It’s hard to describe what we love most about this epic wedding captured by Ruffled vendor Jamie Mercurio – the bride’s statement-making gown in a romantic blush hue, the punchy fall flowers, or the fact that their ceremony sans music was able to elicit such strong emotions from everyone present. We’re about ready to move to Maine too after seeing their New England canapés and plaid-embracing guests. And don’t miss the personalized speckled mugs Eliza and Tim gifted as favors! Can’t. Get. Enough.
From the photographer, Jamie Mercurio: Eliza and Tim hail from the Boston area, but decided to bring their closest friends and family to the sweet and quiet little peninsula of Harpswell, Maine to celebrate their wedding at Live Well Farm. (Fun fact: Live Well Farm was once owned by Patrick Dempsey’s family and he actually got married there!
From the beginning, Eliza knew that she wanted to incorporate plaid into the day (what says fall in Maine better than plaid and flannel?) so in addition to using their wedding hashtag #plaidcladwedding, and asking all of their friends in attendance to dress in their finest plaid getups, Eliza also bought her bridesmaids beautiful and cozy vintage flannel shirts off Etsy! (Brb, searching Etsy for those, stat!)
The wedding colors were nothing short of a moody fairytale, with Eliza’s gorgeous and richly colored fall bouquet by Amy from Pretty Flowers perfectly complimenting her pink Marchesa Notte dress. Tim and his groomsmen all dressed in complementary but not matching suits that all incorporated plaid.
Eliza and Tim opted for their ceremony to be without music, which made for a unique and emotional experience – just silence as they walked down the aisle. And just as Eliza and her bridesmaids began processing down, a fog rolled in, enveloping the landscape in a dreamy cloud.
Trillium provided a lovely spread that included a raw oyster bar – can’t go wrong! And then DJ Jon Strader kept the party going in the barn for one of the best dance parties I’ve witnessed!
