Carnation and Godetia Wedding Flowers

When we saw this wedding bouquet from DeFiore Photography and Hana Style Designs, we just knew we had to share it. Carnations are often left aside in lieus of more glamorous bloms, but this fluffy bouquet make is proof carnations can have a space in the stylish scene too – like in this post we shared a few days ago. Read on for more inspiration behind this lovely greenhouse shoot:

From the photographer, Danielle: As spring looms, I tend to think about blooming flowers, feminine essence and the return of light. In fact, spring was the inspirations for my recent shoot at Bath Gardens with Brittany from Hanna Style Designs and Keegan Steele from Steele the Spotlight. It was so much fun playing with light, color and fresh combinations right before the spring wedding season! The ivories, light peaches and coral colors add a great backdrop that helps the navy pop, providing amazing detail to a simple bouquet while keeping it fresh, light and naturally feminine. Carnations, although an uncommon wedding flower choice, really offers a delicate softness to the arrangement and gives it a rustic feel.

  • Im using carnations in for my bridesmaids bouquets – all white, really full bouquets! I think carnations definitely deserve a place in wedding flowers – inexpensive, beautiful and full!

  • Thank you for posting the names of the flowers. doing my own flowers and knowing the names is so helpful when I go to the flower mart!!

  • Loving the color combo, and the lace fabric in the bouquet is such a great touch!

  • I agree! These carnations are amazingly stylish. I hope this inspires more brides to get more creative with flower choices. Thanks for providing their names, it helps demystify them and gives brides a better chance at replicating the bouquet.

  • Thank you, thank you for showing off how nice carnations can be!! I decided to incorporate them into my wedding floral scheme and in my test runs of the arrangements have found them to add awesome fullness and texture. Affordable, a range of colors, and elegant – carnations really shouldn’t get such a bad rap!

  • I love the combination of colours, these look absolutely lovely and stunning. Thanks for sharing.

  • Carnations definitely deserve their chance in the spotlight, there shouldn’t be a stigma surrounding them because of their affordability. I absolutely love the color combination and the pop of the navy against the blush of the ruffled carnations. I’d love to see more bridal bouquets take advantage of the versatility of carnations.
