This Candlelit Vineyard Wedding on the Coast of Rhode Island Will Warm Your Hearts

High school sweethearts, Jess + Dan, floored us with their candlelit vineyard wedding on the coast of Rhode Island. From their stunning pre-ceremony portraits at Fort Adams, they jumped to the moody candle-filled ceremony + reception at Newport Vineyards, complete with warm and inviting floral arrangements from The Wild Dahlia, to say “I do”. Allison Markova was there to capture every heartwarming moments for us to see. Let’s dive in!

As soon as Jess contacted me to photograph her wedding, I knew it was going to be a gorgeous one. Jess works for The Wild Dahlia – and from the start, had such a unique vision for her & Dan’s day. Their November date called for darker tones and candlelit warmth and although it was a freezing day outside, their venue felt like a cozy hug.

Jess & Dan have known each other since the 5th grade, and are high school sweethearts, truly growing up and in love, together. They were pretty quiet when I first met them for their engagement shoot last year but once we started chatting – I quickly learned that they are two incredibly sweet people. To illustrate this point: they took the time to write every one of their guests an individual letter, which was waiting at their place when they entered the reception – thanking them for their place in their lives, and their support in getting to this day. It’s no small chunk of time, to write all of those letters, but shows you the type of people they are.
