Bohemian Corona del Mar Wedding

We absolutely love that bride Laurel pulled inspiration from bohemian poster child Stevie Nicks for her wedding day, captured by True Bliss Photography. Her gown paired with luscious florals by Pixie’s Petals with deep reds and feathers is perfection in our book. In an intimate celebration, the bride Laurel and groom Brad stayed true to who they are as a couple, and it paid off in spades!

Brad & Laurel's Bohemian Wedding

From the bride, Laurel: Brad and I have been together for 7 years and got engaged in December of 2010. I didn’t get deep into the process of planning until about April and when I started I knew I wanted to stay very true to who Brad and I are as people and as a couple. I wanted something very simple but with very obvious elements of our style. I had absolutely no idea where to start but I kept saying dark, rustic, romantic, bohemian, gypsy, Stevie Nicks in my head. I got hooked up very fast with the most amazing person and florist Leslie at Pixie’s Petals and we decided to use dark romantic flowers with moss accents on the tables and vintage vases.

Brad & Laurel's Bohemian Wedding

I went through about 6 different dresses before I found “the one.” I really wanted elements of Stevie Nicks to be in the dress and it seems that bridal designers assume we all want to look like cupcakes on our wedding day so I was very discouraged when FINALLY I found my dress at the last minute on a website that I use to buy my every day clothes. Our ceremony was very small (35 people) and it was held in a small park overlooking Newport Coast. I walked to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac played by an acoustic guitar and our arch was wrapped in lace and had hanging lanterns swaying above us. We dined and danced to Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra in candlelight… I’ve been in the clouds ever since.
