Historic Cedarwood Wedding Inspiration

Karen of Historic Cedarwood and photographer Leslee Mitchell planned an entire styled shoot around Vera Wang’s “Harlow” gown, and it’s easy to see why — we could stare at it for days! Karen and Leslee brought in hints of white, green, and gray for this winter glam wedding shoot. We love the idea of providing a vodka bar for your guests, and offering hot cocoa as a yummy non-alcoholic option.

From the stylists: Rustic can be glamorous. This barn wedding styled shoot by Leslee Mitchell and Cedarwood Weddings centers around the ballet-inspired Vera Wang gown, Harlow. Vera says, “The way a dancer can bring the crowd to its feet with a drawn-out, well-executed pirouette: that’s the excitement I wanted to capture with Harlow.” The bride’s bouquet is as dramatic as her wedding gown using white Anthuriums, Wax Flower and hanging Amaranthus.

Our barn-loving Texas bride studied ballet for twelve years and always dreamed of a barn wedding. Using Cedarwood’s wedding barn as her rustic venue, we piled on sophisticated styling with a blend of glam and rustic décor. Fur covered Chiavari chair backs, birch and candles add a warmth to the space along with a softly lit altar of torn fabric and white flowers. Hot cocoa, vodka and sushi bars pamper guests. Living tree saplings are offered as “love grows” legacy favors. A wedding cake birch tree stand, paper goods featuring a birch design, hanging birch pole ‘chandeliers’ and a DIY birch garland tie together the birch and barn styling.
