A Year in Weddings

And what a year it’s been! 2010 saw Ruffled evolve and grow into something bigger and better. We started the year by relaunching our Recycle your Wedding. We had two rip-roaring amazing DIY contests, one in the spring and one in the fall. And Ruffled got a brand-spanking-new makeover, followed by the launch of our vendor guide, Blue Label. 2011 is the year of the big reveal of the shop. I can’t wrap my head around how excited I am about this. The Loop is also debuting in 2011. Double dose, my dears.

In weddings, we saw style that ran the gamut from quirky to romantic. You all amazed us with your unending fountain of inspirational weddings, DIY projects and photo sessions and we can’t wait to see what 2011 brings to our world of beautiful things and beautiful people!

Now, let’s recap some of our favorite Real Weddings from 2010, one from every month of the year! It was so much fun to review all the goodness we got to share this year and sooo hard to pick just one for each month. So enjoy our choices and let us know which weddings are your personal favorites. See you next year!

We started the year of with a big, colorful BANG with Tamar and Mike’s Pink and Green Wedding bursting with color and fun!

The color and creativity just kept coming in February when the winter blues were broken up by Jess and Mike and their Indie City Hall Wedding, in NYC no less.

We had shamrock green on the brain after this jaw-dropping Brazilian Orchard Wedding, featuring everything from a “pond” pool to absolutely stunning floral archways and tunnels. Gorgeous!

That dress! The decor! Those Chanel shoes! There was plenty to squeal about in Alyssa and Howard’s Vintage Wedding from April.

In May we shared Dayna and Ian’s eco-friendly wedding. Love everything about it, from her wedding dress to their table numbers.

I love me an indie couple and Jenna and Dustin’s sweet wedding portraits hit just the spot. Her headband is so cute and their love just emanates off the screen, don’t ya think? It just screams June sunshine.

We celebrated the Fourth of July with an adorable (and patriotic!) couple whose Backyard Barbecue Wedding felt so summery and sweet that it set off fireworks in my heart…

The wedding sign that lives on in infamy! The sweet sentiment was just one part of this August wedding that put it at the top of my list. The fun color pallette and handmade details from Christy and Chris’s Southern Affair really put it over the edge!

September brought us this Amazing 1920’s Vintage Wedding, brimming with period details and charm from the UK. The bride’s shrug and their adorable ceremony make it such a special soiree.

In October we posted Whimsical Colorado Wedding, chock full of vintage-inspired details.

When this Sensational UK Wedding landed in our laps this November, we were drooling over all the hundreds of details. Not only is it feminine and quirky and creative and awesomely unique but the reception was held in a teepee! How cool is that?

And last but not least: December’s chilly air leads us to this Cozy London Affair! Full of bright details and a super-cozy venue, our favorite piece of this wedding are of course all the amazing vintage dresses the bride and bridesmaids wore! They are just BEYOND. Vintage never goes out of style!

We’re wrapping up a few projects for next week that we are very excited about. Thank you all so much for your continued readership and support of Ruffled! You all are endlessly inspiring and I can’t wait to share another great year with you lovely Ruffled readers!
