A Rustic San Diego Wedding

A Rustic San Diego Wedding

Tyler and Amber’s wedding, captured by Studio Castillero, paired sweet rustic details with a seriously majestic view. I mean, just look at that incredible ceremony location. It’s truly breathtaking! Amber created almost every single detail in their wedding. From the bouquets and boutonnieres, to the cupcake flags, to the hand stamped labels on the centerpieces, to the floating mini boats. Clearly, Amber is one seriously crafty lady!

More from the bride, Amber:

I have always LOVED being crafty and creative! I always dreamed of my wedding being completely DIY with a rustic shabby chic flare. I remember trying to explain to my “then” fiance what the theme of our wedding was, and I remember the look on his face when I tried to explain… 🙂 I think when you have a creative thought envisioned, you can never bring it to life until the big day. It was exactly what I dreamed of and more!

I had sooooo much fun with all these DIY details. I made the bouquets and boutonnières. I hand crafted the wedding sign that my husband and I then painted.

I was living in the guesthouse of a family that I helped out. They were thinking about renting their home out for weddings and events, and thought this would be the perfect thing to start with! It was beyond perfect and secluded up in elfin forest directly across from the elfin forest hiking reserve.

I have a friend who has a floral wholesale license, which is how I got our flowers. I only paid 200.00 for all the flowers throughout the wedding and bouquets!

I absolutely loved the pockets on my dress 🙂 When Tyler and I were doing our vows I pulled mine out of my pocket and our guests were completely amazed. My bridesmaid’s dresses were actually orange flower girl dresses from David’s Bridal.

Be creative! People love to see new things! Check out websites, magazines, craft stores to get inspiration! Make it fun, not stressful. Don’t forget it’s not about what people are going to think, it’s about the first day of the rest of your life with your husband. What a blessing!

  • Hi! Im from San Diego too and was wondering if they were going to start booking other weddings there soon? I’ve been looking for the perfect venue, and it looks like such a beautiful place. I would love to get in contact with them if they were. Please let me know how to reach them if so. Thank you!

  • Oh my god!! That picture of you guys at the ceremony with that amaaaazing view took my breath away! My heart is beating faster than normal. I love that your then-fiance was on board for whatever you had in mind, I’ve got a guy like that too–he just looks puzzled by some of my ideas, but the more I explain he’s usually really happy about them. Love the bride’s hair, the brisdesmaid dresses for being so pretty and fun, and love those centerpieces!

  • I second Sabrina’s inquiry. I am also in San Diego searching for a venue to no avail. I would love some information on this property if it is available to rent for events.
