Fashion Forward Elopement With Lavender Florals and Mossy Green Plaids
Oui oui, mon amie, this fashion forward elopement is leaving us starry-eyed. With couture bridal gown details like 3D handcrafted floral embroidery, lilac fabric, belle sleeves and ruffled tiers cascading down the skirt, this design concept and artistic gallery from Ashley Noelle Edwards hooked us from the start. But then we saw the Namibian hipster menswear, and while we don’t often find ourselves speechless, this fashion moment sure did the trick. Together, these lovebirds are as stylish as can be, and we are not-so-casually obsessed with the way their fashion narrative carries on seamlessly through the illustrated paper goods from The Vintage Inkwell and the rare, textured blooms from Le Bloomerie. As the fashion forward elopement story unfolds, it’s almost like watching a flirtatious dance between heritage and individuality, and we cannot wait for you to experience it for yourself in the images below!
From the Photographer, Event planner and Event Designer, Ashley Noelle Edwards, LLC: As a creative and lover of weddings and fashion, I had never seen Namibian hipster fashion menswear featured in a wedding publication, so I created this microwedding inspiration editorial. Namibian hipster fashion menswear is something I’ve been enamored with since 2014 after reading about it in The Guardian. Our handsome groom model, Issa brought this look perfectly together with a black felt hat from Zara, and a suit kilt and traditional Scottish brogues. The tartan featured is called Buchanan Hunting Muted, which is also reflected in the envelope liner created by paper artist/calligrapher, The Vintage Inkwell.
We combined Namibian hipster menswear with a lavender Costarellos dress featuring florals and ruffles, as well as 3-dimensional beaded flowers and a belt. The color palette for this wedding styled shoot is a unique lavender, olive, forest, and gold. The florals by Le Bloomerie combined all of these shades and more, including fascinating green and white anthurium, showstopping lavender roses and clematis, and frilly tulips. A simple table arrangement looks grand with unique florals when combined with velvet tablecloth by Amore Society.
We chose Party Crush Studio for this editorial to provide a blank space and backdrop for a pandemic-friendly microwedding or elopement. Regardless of the pandemic, many prefer to keep their wedding intimate and fashionable, which is exactly what this editorial inspires.
Thankfully, this isn’t the only fashion forward elopement we’ve seen with a lavender wedding dress. This color is having a moment! Exhibit A.
Hair and makeup was provided by Raven Reed Luxury Beauty. Raven is a genius at skin evaluation and makeup application, as well as hair styling. For our bride, Raven chose a romantic lavender and charcoal color palette with dynamic, multi-dimensional makeup application to create a flawless look. The images are photographed on real medium format film and there is no retouching done to them for makeup! Raven Reed is the ultimate bridal makeup artist. For our beautiful model Jun Ong’s hairstyle, Raven chose a glamorous hollywood starlet style wave with a middle part. A stunning floral vine hand-created by jewelry designer, Edera was added to the back of Jun’s lovely hair. She also wore lace and gold earrings also by Edera Jewelry along with carrying a white ostrich feather and vintage rhinestone bridal handbag by Cloe Noel Designs.
Bella Belle Shoes provided bridal heels that tie in back with silk bows adorned in front with pearl details.
The calligraphy is hand-drawn by Molly of The Vintage Inkwell on handmade paper, including delicate vellum painted with lavender flowers and gold hand-poured wax stamp.
Rings, including two cocktail rings and a men’s ring are from Trumpet and Horn. The first cocktail ring is moonstone and diamond, the second a lovely collection of diamonds in a unique shape that is circa the 1950s. Olive and lavender ring boxes are from The Mrs. Box, and the other ring box is leather and an antique.
Our cake is simple and styled with slim anthurium flowers in magenta and rare blue striped carnation flowers. All the chairs in this editorial are from The Copper Rose Collection, including the amazing statement piece chair with velvet upholstery. The dinner table chairs are gold and clear.
All images were photographed on film to well represent an artistic, romantic aesthetic. A film photographer can shoot images of your wedding celebration that are both documentary as well as fine art. We chose many poses that show off the fashion of this design and would be beautiful in a printed album to pass down the memories of not only the wonderful people involved in the wedding, but also the amazing and unique style!
